Tristan da Cunha, the remotest inhabited island

To say that visiting Tristan da Cunha is a once-in-a-lifetime voyage is an understatement. Few people have been there and fewer still have been lucky enough to spend any length of time on the island.

It took me five years to find a place on a ship that was bound for the remotest island settlement, a relatively small dot in the South Atlantic Ocean, but it was well worth the wait. Here are some of my favourite photographs from the most isolated island on Earth.
